Ginger Tea Recipe

Ginger tea is a slightly spicy non-alcoholic drink. It soothes the stomach and aids digestion.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger
  2. 1 cup of water
  3. Cooking pan or pot
  4. Mesh sieve
  5. Teacup or mug

Optional ingredients:

  1. Turmeric
  2. Mint
  3. Cinnamon
  4. Lemon or Orange
  5. Honey

Procedure:

  1. Wash your ginger thoroughly to remove all dirt and chop it into smaller pieces, you do not need to peel it.
  2. Pour it in a cooking pan or pot and add the one cup of water
  3. You can add one of the optional ingredients like turmeric, cinnamon and mint for more flavour.
  4. Apply moderate heat to it and let it simmer for 5 minutes (for a more concentrated taste, you can allow it simmer for 10 minutes).
  5. Carefully pour the mixture through a mesh sieve into a tea cup or mug.
  6. You can add one teaspoon of honey to give it more taste
  7. If you choose to, you can add a thin slice of lemon or orange to add more flavour.
  8. Drink your freshly made ginger tea while it is hot.

Although sometimes, the effect may not be instantaneous depending on what you need it for, regular intake of ginger tea may help reduce cold, boost immunity and improves digestion and stomach performance.
